Meet The Cats

Ally and her mum Kitty were rescued by us when their owner became too unwell to look after them. Because of this they went a couple of months with very little socialization so at first we were worried they might be a bit nervous here. But Ally adjusted very quickly by copying her mum.
Ally is a very affectionate girl and loves to sit with you on the sofa and show of her fluffy belly - but don’t touch it – It’s a Trap!!
You can usually find her lying on our diary causing trouble, following Megan around or asleep in basket by the window with her mum.

Belle was rescued from Romania with her brother Jasper where they spent the start of their lives in a rescue center cage.

They were rescued and given the chance to find their forever home in the UK. Unfortunately it was a little rocky to start with as they were moved around a lot, but now Belle is very settled and is finally free to roam around. Belle was very friendly from the start and she adores attention and loves climbing on people, but only on her terms! She likes sit on your chest and shoulders and is very playful, she is always very proud once she has caught her prey.

Blossom and her sister Bluebell were born to a very young mum who struggled to care for her huge litter of 9 kittens, due to this they were partially hand reared at the rescue center.

After being hand reared these two needed a lotta extra love and attention, and they sure do get it here. Blossom settled in here so quickly, she is a little pocket rocket always on the go and playing with the other cats. But she does always love attention too and can be a real lap cat – once she’s done with her zoomies!

Bluebell is a very loving adventurous cat who likes to surprise people by jumping up onto their shoulders and getting a ride around the café. She loves playing with the other cats and she particularly loves tackling her sister or playing on the bridge or her new hammock!

What can I say about Frank? Well… He likes to think he rules the roost, but maybe that's because he can't hear anyone else!

Frank is deaf, but that does not stop him being one of the biggest troublemakers - he somehow manages to get himself into and onto everything. He is a lovely a real marshmallow, but he can also be a cheeky boy who absolutely adores a fuss.

He has sort of become our little mascot cat here, attending events and fairs with us and always loving meeting his adoring public! He even has a chocolate bar made after him – which can be found in our gift shop and his own Facebook page now – Sir Frank!

Harry came to us with his siblings, Hermione, Lily and Luna. These four had such a bumpy start starting out as feral and living a rough life on the streets, they are taking their time trusting people. Now having found his forever Harry enjoys playing and does love a treat or two, he does tend to hiss sometime but we think this is because he does not know how to meow.

The process of their rehabilitation is slow but positive. They are learning from all their other cat friends and we are starting to gain their trust.
Here at Paws we have so much time to spend with them and we are loving getting to know them and see their characters build.

Hermione came to Paws with her siblings Harry, Lily and Luna These four had such a bumpy start starting out as feral and living a rough life on the streets, they are taking a long time to start trusting people. Now Hermione is in her forever home she is gaining in confidence, she loves playing with string toys and will always love a treat from you! She is now the bravest of her siblings and will even let you nose boop if you’re slow.

The process of their rehabilitation is slow but positive. They are learning from all their older cat friends and we are starting to gain their trust. Here at Paws we have so much time to spend with them and we are loving getting to know them and see their characters build.

Hiccup came to Paws with his little sister Toothless. We rescued these two gorgeous cats from a farm when they were just 4 months old after they were found with their litter siblings. The people on the farm couldn’t afford to have them all neutered and they were fast approaching the age where they would all start breeding themselves which would have caused many more issues for these kittens. They had been living feral so it was very hard work catching them all.

These two are now all safe and sound, neutered, chipped and vaccinated and it has been heart-warming to see their progress. Hiccup is such a Mumma’s boy – loving the owner Elaine the most. He enjoys attention and loves dipping his paws in water and hiding in his treehouse. He can also be very vocal on occasions.

Kitkat was brought to Paws during the first Corona virus lockdown. His owners could no longer keep him due to the personal situations the pandemic had caused. He took a little while to settle in here and make some friends as he kept wanting to be the boss, but Frank quickly shut that down!

He is now settled very well and made friends with the others, he is a little firecracker always pushing the boundaries and getting over excited about all the great toys and treats! He loves play time – but watch your hands – he tends to think those are toys too!

Kitty is very affectionate and brave and always wanting to say hello to everyone, she has her favorite spot by the window. She loves people watching and enjoys the sun there, you will often find her cuddled up with her daughter Ally or Mango.

Lily was rescued with her 3 siblings Harry, Hermione and Luna, they had such a bumpy start starting out as feral and living a rough life on the streets, they are taking a long time to start trusting people.
Lily now is very settled but can be a bit shy but she loves Dreamies particularly in a puzzle feeder and she can also be very playful.

Luna has the brightest green eyes and loves little fluffy toys, she even treats them like her babies and likes to sing to them and stash them in secret places.

Mango came here with her brother Maple. We rescued them from a home that had too many cats and kittens when they were just 3 months old.

She is a very sweet, petite girl who loves a good fuss if she’s sitting still long enough, her new favourite thing is to steal sugar packets -like she needs more sugar! She is very lively and full of energy, she loves catching her little toy mouse. She often hides them behind the door!

Maple came here with his sister Mango . We rescued them from a home that had too many cats and kittens when they were just 3 months old.
He is a real character little wildcat at heart. He’s very sweet but is still a bit shy, he is growing with confidence each day. His new favourite thing is to steal napkins from customers, falling asleep in his tunnel or climbing to the highest tree’s, you will often find him on the cat tree outside the bathrooms!

He has also gained the nickname ‘The Gremlin’ because of how fast he eats and the noises he makes!

Pride and his sister Princess were taken to the rescue center out of love by an ex-soldier who was sadly unable to keep them due to his situation. Because they were indoor cats who were so loved they were perfect for us here.

Pride is confident very well bonded with a lot of the boys here he is also very friendly and a bit of a troublemaker. He sits up high until he decides he wants some attention, so if he comes to sit on your lap, you are very lucky! He and Princess are the best of friends!

Pride and Princess were taken to the rescue center out of love by an ex-soldier who was sadly unable to keep them due to his situation. Because they were indoor cats who were so loved they were perfect for us here.

Princess can be a little shy and doesn’t always come downstairs as often as her brother. She lives up to her name and has a favorite pink fluffy bed upstairs! She is however very affectionate, loves a fuss and a very noisy purr-er when she’s super happy – she sounds like a motorbike!

Sara is the Queen of Sass! She has such a little attitude and
has come so far from when we rescued her.

Poor Sara was rather neglected by her previous family who knew nothing about cats and left her to feed herself, resulting in her thinking she needs to scavenge and steal food.

Before coming to Paws she was tiny, she had never even tasted cat food or eaten from a bowl. She has slowly learned to be a cat and put on weight well, but she is still prone to a milk jug occasionally! She also has to get her lunchtime snack else she gets pretty hangry!

She is a lovely girl and it is amazing what she can achieve with a
little patience and a lot of love and attention.

Sushi is our first long haired cat here at Paws and she is already stealing hearts with her beauty. We took Sushi in after her owners could no longer care for her high maintenance behavior.
Sushi is a domestic long hair cat who might be mixed with a pure breed - which would explain her sassy nature and stunning looks. She is already very adventurous and has her favorite spots on the sofa.
She is also our smartest cat here and knows a few party tricks!

Toothless can still be a little shy and unsure on loud noises, but she loves playing particularly with silver vine sticks, she’s such a cutie too with the sweetest temperament. She has more recently become a lap cat, loving the affection – she also loves the mice/fish games on phones and tablets!

Tweeny and her brother Patch used to live with an elderly lady, but when she sadly passed, they were left alone.

Tweeny is a sweet loving girl; she enjoys playing and loves attention. She can usually be found on her sofa spots or on somebody’s lap!
She is most recognizable by her little black nose and a noticeable fork in her left ear. She loves a good head scratch and if you get it exactly right, she will smile right up at you!
